PATH Peer Coaching Course
“Peer Coaching is about structured, facilitated help from those who know us well and are routinely in our daily lives.”
Just imagine the benefits if your employees could:
- Learn how to be a great health coach
- Coach a colleague or friend
- Be effectively coached by that same person in return
Our Peer Coaching program is based on the book Healthy Habits, Helping Friends authored by culture and mentoring expert and PATH Advisory Board Member, Judd Allen Ph.D. Our online Peer Coaching Course combines informative text, streaming video examples and peer coaching assignments to guide participants through a powerful educational process.
Although participants use the web-based tools to learn about their assignments and to report, peers are encouraged to meet several times over 6-8 weeks to work on the following:
- Understanding Peer Coaching
- Establishing a foundation of mutual trust and support
- Setting effective lifestyle goals
- Identifying strong role models
- Eliminating barriers to change
- Locating supportive environments
- Celebrating successes
- Next steps
Peer coaches get the added benefit of working closely with a veteran health science expert who monitors assignments and ongoing progress.
